Handover

Handover is our own two-person studio, from Germany and Aotearoa New Zealand, that designs and builds its own apps. The name comes from how the work moves: it passes from one of us to the other until it is right. The mark is one sun made of two halves. The rays and the bowl are different shapes doing different jobs, and neither is a sun on its own. The line between them is the handover.

One typeface, DM Sans, in two weights, and a palette of black, white, navy and brown, with the warmth coming from natural materials like olive, walnut and linen. Then the system went to work on app icons, a pattern, merch and business cards.
